Strategic planning days can fail before the agenda starts.
Not because the intent is wrong, but because the environment feels exactly like every other meeting: same room, same behaviours, same level of energy.
A proper planning day can be more than a calendar invite, a whiteboard and a room with tired carpet. It helps to have a space that allows people step out of the usual rhythm, think clearly, connect properly and stay engaged for the full day.
So we wanted to take the Fragile to Agile team out of the office for a strategic planning day to a special place.
Conventus gave us what we needed, along with a central city location, privacy, strong connectivity, excellent video communications, easy automated access and a boardroom-style setup that worked well for our group. It was professional without being sterile, comfortable, and different enough to shift the energy in the room.
There's a boxing ring... for those tough discussions?

One unexpected bonus was what happened in the breaks.
People actually moved, played pinball, reset and came back into the session with more energy. That is not something you get from a standard corporate meeting room.
