SA WaterOrganisation Overview
SA Water maintains and operates the water utility supply for South Australia and is responsible for a
substantial network of infrastructure including:
- Over 26,000 km of water mains.
- Over 8,700 km of sewer mains.
- Over 180 km of recycled water mains.
- 30 water treatment plants.
- 24 wastewater treatment plants.
- 16 reservoirs.
- 2 desalination plants.
SA Water provides water and wastewater services to a population of approximately 1.5 million people
across South Australia with a water delivery volume of over 200 Gigalitres per year.
Fragile to Agile Engagement
As part of a broader technology strategy for SA Water, Fragile to Agile partnered with Datacom to provide a roadmap for upgrading SA Water’s data network infrastructure. Fragile to Agile’s role was to facilitate the development of a clear statement of intent, the desired business outcomes to be supported, by the data network refresh. These outcomes were then used by the Datacom members of the team, to drive a review of the existing network with SA Water, determine a desired target state for the network and set of set of principles to underpin the refresh. The Fragile to Agile work ensured that the target state and principles were both driven by and traceable back to the desired business outcomes.
