Client Synopsis
MyBudgetOrganisation Overview
MyBudget is dedicated to helping people gain control of their finances and manage personal debt. It has been fulfilling its mission to reduce financial stress in the community since the company first started in 1999. It has since helped almost 40,000 Australians get financially fit. Today, MyBudget is recognised as the nation’s leader in personal budgeting services.
Tammy May, MyBudget’s founder and director, started the company from her kitchen table when she was 22 years old. Through her work at a legal firm, Tammy had witnessed the impact of financial hardship on clients who had little understanding about how to reduce their debts or take control of their finances.
From these humble beginnings, MyBudget has grown into a national company which now employs over 250 staff members, manages over $550 million in salaries and processes more than 2.5 million transactions on behalf of thousands of clients every year.

Fragile to Agile Engagement
After years of explosive growth, MyBudget had outgrown its original systems and applications and recognised the need for the revitalisation of its technology architecture to support its organic growth and business expansion aspirations. Impressed by the success of the Fragile to Agile designed and governed transformation program at ME Bank, MyBudget founder Tammy May and director Dave Bohn approached Fragile to Agile to develop a similar program for MyBudget.
Using our standard methodology, a Business Capability Model was developed and used to map MyBudget’s current state architecture which informed an accompanying assessment. It was then used to develop a target state architecture and solution roadmap to transition to that state which consisted of 17 projects over an estimated 4-year term. The program is currently being executed.
