Hansen Yuncken Leighton ContractorsOrganisation Overview
Hansen Yuncken Leighton Contractors is the joint venture between two of Australia’s largest and most respected construction firms – Hansen Yuncken and Leighton Contractors, put together to deliver one of the most ambitious and significant building projects in Australia, the new Royal Adelaide Hospital. The nRAH achieved technical acceptance on March 15th, 2017 with the intention of it being commissioned for patient load in September 2017. The HYLC joint venture (JV) has been responsible not only for the delivery of the physical building but also all the integrated IT business systems required to run the hospital. This IT capability, in turn was required to be integrated back into the broader SA Health platform so that the hospital can be run as a state-wide asset.
Fragile to Agile Engagement
Fragile to Agile (F2A) was commissioned by HYLC to review the overall integration solution for all the nRAH business systems to understand and highlight any risks to the JV of the integrated solution. To accomplish this, the various solution provider stakeholders were all interviewed and a review of each of the solutions was done. A high level, business driven transaction model was created and a capacity plan was drawn up to estimate potential issues with the integration solution. The findings were drawn up in a final report. Additionally, during the engagement, F2A provided architectural advice on specific solution issues that were raised as part of the customer evaluation process prior to technical completion.
