Fragile to Agile Engagement
Fragile to Agile (F2A) was engaged by DPTI as part of an uplift to their Business Performance Management capability as F2A’s Business Capability Models (BCMs) have proven to be extremely useful to other organisations in this area. Whilst BCMs are most traditionally used to drive business-technology alignment, more advanced uses include Business Performance Management through the uses of Heat Maps and driving of KRAs through Capability Maturity measures through to individual role level KPIs for individuals supporting the capability.
The initial engagement saw F2A working with stakeholders at DPTI to establish a complete executive Business Capability Model (BCM) covering all DPTI with a detailed architectural BCM for the People and Performance area of DPTI. Some key Heat maps were then development to demonstrate the power of the Heat Mapping tool and for DPTI to assess whether to expand the program to the other areas of DPTI. This engagement is ongoing at the time of writing.
Fragile to Agile was also engaged by DPTI for a more traditional use of a BCM. In this engagement we were tasked with developing an architectural BCM for the Portfolio Management Office within DPTI to assist in its planned procurement of new Portfolio and Project management solutions. In particular, the BCM was used to understand the desired capability footprint of each solution, the critical success factors for its support for each of those capabilities and the key interface points between them.
